Jericho Cruz won his breakthrough PBA Finals MVP trophy after San Miguel's triumphant run in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup, which concluded on Friday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Cruz credited SMC sports director Alfrancis Chua for being there for him throughout the Finals, helping the Adamson University product shut out the noise brought upon by his ways in the game.

The Meralco Bolts ended their Philippine Cup Elimnation round campaign with a resounding 82-73 win over Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.
The win improved Meralco's win-loss record to 6-5, enough to guarantee a playoff spot. They now wait for the rest of the teams to complete their schedule to see what seed they'll be.
Ginebra's loss dropped them to 5-3 in athree-team tie for 4th place with idle teams TNT and Rain or Shine.
