Mark Cruz waxed hot from the outside, going 6 of 12 from beyond the arc to finish with a game-high 23 points, while adding 6 assists and Felix Apreku was a monster inside, scoring 10 points and grabbing 24  boards as GenSan Warriors scored a 104-71 win over Bacolod Tubo Slashers.

The win snapped back-to-back losses suffered by the Warriors, improving its record to 14-9, solidifying their playoff position in the tight South Division.

Mart Barrera finished with 21 points and Mark Ray Dubouzet 20 for the Tubo Slashers, who has now dropped 20of its 23 games this season.

The Pasay City Voyagers needed two overtimes to get past Rizal Xentro Mall Golden Coolers 96-89, to extend their winning streak to six games.

Jasper Salenga and Felipe Chavez each had 17 points and four others scored in double figures for the Voyagers, who improved their win-loss record to 16-8.

The Xentro Mall Golden Coolers, who dropped their 8 game of the season (14 wins), was led by Alwyn Alday, who had 17 points.

Upon review of the footage of the incident from last night's game (August 11) between the Mindoro Tamaraws and the GenSan Warriors, the MPBL has meted a lifetime ban on GenSan player Michole Sorela.

A ₱200,000 fine has also been slapped on Sorela for the punch that left Mindoro's Jonas Tibayan with a broken jaw and concussion.

"We condemn the incident and the MPBL won't tolerate such actions", said MPBL commissioner Kenneth duremdes in handing out stiff sanctions. "It compromises the player's safety and taint the league's image".

The Mindoro Tamaraws (13-10) scored a tight 76-72 win over the GenSan Warriors (13-9) to move just half a game behind them for sixth place in the South Division. The Top 6 at the end of the Regular Season automatically qualifies for a playoffs spot.

Bambam Gamalinda scored 21 points and hauled down 7 boards to pace the Tamaraws. Wendel Comboy (16 and 5) and Joseph Sedurifa (12 and 7) also had good games for the Tamaraws.

Kyle Dominic Tolentino had a double-double (21 points and 10 rebounds) to lead the Warriors.

Pasay Voyagers scored their 15th win of the season, beating QC Galeries Taipan 87-74.

Christian Fajarito (16 points, 5 rebounds), Mark Sangco (14 and 10) and Jasper Salenga (13 and 4) led the way for the Voyagers.

Niño Ibañez led Quezon City with 18 points.

Mark Meneses and Jun Manzo scored 23 points and 6 assists apiece as Cebu schocks GenSan 100-94.

Meneses al had 15 boards to complete his double double.

GenSan Warriors stunned red-hot Biñan Tatak Gel 75-69. The loss snapped BIñan's 7-game winning streak.

The Pasay Voyagers scored the first 6 points against Cebu Classic and were in cruise control the rest of the evening on the way to a 107-80 win. Brian Hilario had 16 points and 4 assists to lead Pasay.

Dennis Santos had 21 points to lead Cebu, which fell to 9th place in the South Division with a 4-8 win-loss slate.
