Paul Desiderio finished with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals, leading Cebu to an 87-71 win over Bulacan Kuyas.

It was the 4th straight win for Cebu (9-15), continuing their pursuit of a play-in spot as they are now just a game behind  Imus and Sarangani, who are currently tied for 10th spot.

Mark Cruz waxed hot from the outside, going 6 of 12 from beyond the arc to finish with a game-high 23 points, while adding 6 assists and Felix Apreku was a monster inside, scoring 10 points and grabbing 24  boards as GenSan Warriors scored a 104-71 win over Bacolod Tubo Slashers.

The win snapped back-to-back losses suffered by the Warriors, improving its record to 14-9, solidifying their playoff position in the tight South Division.

Mart Barrera finished with 21 points and Mark Ray Dubouzet 20 for the Tubo Slashers, who has now dropped 20of its 23 games this season.

Upon review of the footage of the incident from last night's game (August 11) between the Mindoro Tamaraws and the GenSan Warriors, the MPBL has meted a lifetime ban on GenSan player Michole Sorela.

A ₱200,000 fine has also been slapped on Sorela for the punch that left Mindoro's Jonas Tibayan with a broken jaw and concussion.

"We condemn the incident and the MPBL won't tolerate such actions", said MPBL commissioner Kenneth duremdes in handing out stiff sanctions. "It compromises the player's safety and taint the league's image".

Jun Manzo scored a game-high 26 points on 50% shooting from the field (10-of-20), leading Cebu Greats to a 76-70 win over Pasig City.

It's the 9th win of the season for the Greats and is only 1 and a half game away from a playin spot.

Lean Martel added 12 points and 9 boards for Cebu.

Jacob Galicia (19 points and 15 rebounds) and Warlo James Batac (13 points and 12 rebounds) both had double-doubles for Pasig.

The Mindoro Tamaraws (13-10) scored a tight 76-72 win over the GenSan Warriors (13-9) to move just half a game behind them for sixth place in the South Division. The Top 6 at the end of the Regular Season automatically qualifies for a playoffs spot.

Bambam Gamalinda scored 21 points and hauled down 7 boards to pace the Tamaraws. Wendel Comboy (16 and 5) and Joseph Sedurifa (12 and 7) also had good games for the Tamaraws.

Kyle Dominic Tolentino had a double-double (21 points and 10 rebounds) to lead the Warriors.

Paul Desiderio finished with 28 points on 11-of-17 shooting from the field, leading the Cebu Greats to a 104-86 win over Marikina Shoemasters.

Jun Manzo (17 points) and Jan Jamon (13) also contributed in double figures for Cebu.

Deo Timajo led Marikina with 22 points and 6 assists.

GenSan Warriors stunned red-hot Biñan Tatak Gel 75-69. The loss snapped BIñan's 7-game winning streak.

The Pasay Voyagers scored the first 6 points against Cebu Classic and were in cruise control the rest of the evening on the way to a 107-80 win. Brian Hilario had 16 points and 4 assists to lead Pasay.

Dennis Santos had 21 points to lead Cebu, which fell to 9th place in the South Division with a 4-8 win-loss slate.
