Pasay escapes Rizal in double overtime

The Pasay City Voyagers needed two overtimes to get past Rizal Xentro Mall Golden Coolers 96-89, to extend their winning streak to six games.

Jasper Salenga and Felipe Chavez each had 17 points and four others scored in double figures for the Voyagers, who improved their win-loss record to 16-8.

The Xentro Mall Golden Coolers, who dropped their 8 game of the season (14 wins), was led by Alwyn Alday, who had 17 points.

Basilan beats Davao Occidental

Basilan started the game on fire, outscoring Davao Occidental 30-14 in the first quarter, fueling their 82-63 victory.

Gab Dagangon (19 points, 8 rebounds), Eman Calo (13 points) and Alex Cabagnot (10 points, 10 rebounds, 9assists) spearheaded the Viva Portmasters' attck to win their 11th game of the season, good for 8th in the South Division.

Davao fell to 8-14 (win-loss), dampening their bid for a play-in spot as they are now one game behind idle team Imus and Sarangani, which both have 9-13 records.

Wowie Escosio scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Davao.

Dexter Maiquez had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Orlan Wamar Jr added 12 points and 8 assists, leading the San Juan Knights to a 95-79 win over Davao Occidental Tigers.

The win improved the league-leading Knights record to wins against a single loss, half a game ahead of idle team Abra and Nueva Ecija.

Jansher Salubre had 24 points and raymart Escobido 21 in the losing effort.

Christian Fajarito (16 points, 5 rebounds), Mark Sangco (14 and 10) and Jasper Salenga (13 and 4) led the way for the Voyagers.

Niño Ibañez led Quezon City with 18 points.

MPBLThe MPBL has decided to postpone the games scheduled for today, July 21, 2025 at the Batangas City Coliseum due to the heavy rains affecting Batangas City and nearby areas.

The health and safety of the teams, working staff, and fans are of utmost importance to the league.

The new date of the postponed games will be announced in due course.
