Mark Cruz waxed hot from the outside, going 6 of 12 from beyond the arc to finish with a game-high 23 points, while adding 6 assists and Felix Apreku was a monster inside, scoring 10 points and grabbing 24  boards as GenSan Warriors scored a 104-71 win over Bacolod Tubo Slashers.

The win snapped back-to-back losses suffered by the Warriors, improving its record to 14-9, solidifying their playoff position in the tight South Division.

Mart Barrera finished with 21 points and Mark Ray Dubouzet 20 for the Tubo Slashers, who has now dropped 20of its 23 games this season.

The Pasay City Voyagers needed two overtimes to get past Rizal Xentro Mall Golden Coolers 96-89, to extend their winning streak to six games.

Jasper Salenga and Felipe Chavez each had 17 points and four others scored in double figures for the Voyagers, who improved their win-loss record to 16-8.

The Xentro Mall Golden Coolers, who dropped their 8 game of the season (14 wins), was led by Alwyn Alday, who had 17 points.

Upon review of the footage of the incident from last night's game (August 11) between the Mindoro Tamaraws and the GenSan Warriors, the MPBL has meted a lifetime ban on GenSan player Michole Sorela.

A ₱200,000 fine has also been slapped on Sorela for the punch that left Mindoro's Jonas Tibayan with a broken jaw and concussion.

"We condemn the incident and the MPBL won't tolerate such actions", said MPBL commissioner Kenneth duremdes in handing out stiff sanctions. "It compromises the player's safety and taint the league's image".

The Mindoro Tamaraws (13-10) scored a tight 76-72 win over the GenSan Warriors (13-9) to move just half a game behind them for sixth place in the South Division. The Top 6 at the end of the Regular Season automatically qualifies for a playoffs spot.

Bambam Gamalinda scored 21 points and hauled down 7 boards to pace the Tamaraws. Wendel Comboy (16 and 5) and Joseph Sedurifa (12 and 7) also had good games for the Tamaraws.

Kyle Dominic Tolentino had a double-double (21 points and 10 rebounds) to lead the Warriors.

Michael Cañete had 16 pints and Alwyn Alday 16 as Rizal Xentro Mall Golden Coolers beat Ilagan Isabela Cowboys 71-63

The win, Rizal's 14th in 21 games, moved them just half a game behind idle Zamboanga for 2nd place in the South Division.

Agem Miranda had 19 points,Mark Dyke contributed 13 with 14 rebounds and Arthur dela Cruz flirted with a triple double (10 points, 12 rebounds, 8assists) for Ilagan Isabela.

Mark Meneses and Jun Manzo scored 23 points and 6 assists apiece as Cebu schocks GenSan 100-94.

Meneses al had 15 boards to complete his double double.

Quezon City vs. Basilan, Caloocan vs. Sarangani and Rizal vs. Nueva Ecija, scheduled for today at the Ynares Center in Montalban, Rizal has ben postponed due to bad weather.

This is the second consecutive game date postponed as rains continue to pour on most of Southern Luzon and Metro Manila.

Eric Camson posted a 20-20 game as Rizal Xentro Mall Coolers slipped past 1Bataan Risers, 82-71.

Camson finished with 24 points and 23 rebounds for Rizal

GenSan Warriors stunned red-hot Biñan Tatak Gel 75-69. The loss snapped BIñan's 7-game winning streak.
