Dave Ildefonso, the league's leading scorer, scored 20 points and added 8 rebounds to lead Abra to another victory, this time over Ilagan Isabela Cowboys 76-59.

Abra, the league's best team, with a 22-win 1-loss record, extended their winning run to 20 games.

Ilagan Isabela, who has lost 3 of their last 4 games, was led by Donald Gumaru, who finished with 11 points.

Levi Hernandez had 20 points and 4 assists to lead Batangas City Tanduay Rum Masters to a 108-88 win over also-ran Marikina Shoemasters.

Dawn Ochea added 16 points and 8 boards, Juneric Baloria 14 points and 4 steals and Mark Neil Cruz 10 points and 10 assists as Batangas wins their third straight game to improve to its record to 15 wins and 8 losses.

Marikina, meanwhile, suffered its 5th straight loss, 19th overall in 23 games.

Basilan started the game on fire, outscoring Davao Occidental 30-14 in the first quarter, fueling their 82-63 victory.

Gab Dagangon (19 points, 8 rebounds), Eman Calo (13 points) and Alex Cabagnot (10 points, 10 rebounds, 9assists) spearheaded the Viva Portmasters' attck to win their 11th game of the season, good for 8th in the South Division.

Davao fell to 8-14 (win-loss), dampening their bid for a play-in spot as they are now one game behind idle team Imus and Sarangani, which both have 9-13 records.

Wowie Escosio scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Davao.

Upon review of the footage of the incident from last night's game (August 11) between the Mindoro Tamaraws and the GenSan Warriors, the MPBL has meted a lifetime ban on GenSan player Michole Sorela.

A ₱200,000 fine has also been slapped on Sorela for the punch that left Mindoro's Jonas Tibayan with a broken jaw and concussion.

"We condemn the incident and the MPBL won't tolerate such actions", said MPBL commissioner Kenneth duremdes in handing out stiff sanctions. "It compromises the player's safety and taint the league's image".

John Paul Cauilan had a 27-point 11-rebound double-double, leading Zamboanga Sikat to a nail-biting 98-93 overtime win over the Pangasinan Heatwaves.

Reggz Albert Gabat added 22 and 8 and Abdul Sawat 21 and 11 as Zamboanga snaps a 2-game skid to improve its win-loss record to 16-7, solidifying their hold of the 2nd spot in the South Division.

Pangasinan.meanwhile, fell to 15-7, their 5-game winning streak snapped.

Laurenz Victoria led Pangasinan with 16 points.

Batagas City trailing by 6 after three quarters, outscored Bacolod, 22-14 in the fourth to score a 60-58 win, avoiding the upset axe.

The Tanduay Rhum Masters improved its win-loss record to 14-8 while the Tubo Slashes has now dropped 19 of their 22 games.

Levi Hernandez and Cedric Ablaza scored 14 points apiece to lead Batangas.

Jaycee Adjei and Mark Ray Dubouzet shared the scoring honors for Bacolod with 13 each.

The Mindoro Tamaraws (13-10) scored a tight 76-72 win over the GenSan Warriors (13-9) to move just half a game behind them for sixth place in the South Division. The Top 6 at the end of the Regular Season automatically qualifies for a playoffs spot.

Bambam Gamalinda scored 21 points and hauled down 7 boards to pace the Tamaraws. Wendel Comboy (16 and 5) and Joseph Sedurifa (12 and 7) also had good games for the Tamaraws.

Kyle Dominic Tolentino had a double-double (21 points and 10 rebounds) to lead the Warriors.

Dave Ildefonso scored 27 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and issues 3 assists as the Abra Solid North Weavers beat 2-time defending champions Pampanga Giant Lanterns 94-80.

Marwin Taywan (17 points and 10 assists) and John Uduba (10 points and 10 rebounds) contributed double-doubles for Abra, which tied San Juan atop the North Division leaderboard.

Archie Concepcion led Pampanga with 24 points.

Dexter Maiquez had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Orlan Wamar Jr added 12 points and 8 assists, leading the San Juan Knights to a 95-79 win over Davao Occidental Tigers.

The win improved the league-leading Knights record to wins against a single loss, half a game ahead of idle team Abra and Nueva Ecija.

Jansher Salubre had 24 points and raymart Escobido 21 in the losing effort.

Imus Braderhood, trailing for most of the game, woke up in the fourth quarter, outscoring Bulacan Kuyas 25-9 to score a 92-83 win.

Mark Anthony Doligon scored 25 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and issued 6 assists for Imus.

Marlon Monte had 17 points for Bulacan.

Joshua Fontanilla scored 17 points and added 7 rebounds and 6 assists, Michael DiGregorio added 20 points and 8 rebounds as the Pangasinan Heatwaves ran roughshod over undermanned Parañaque Patriots 135-76.

Shaquille Alanes had 18 points and 5 rebounds for the Patriots.

Pangasinan improved its win-loss mark to 15-6 while the league worst Patriots suffered their 20th loss in 21 games.

It was the 18th straight win for the league-leading Weavers. Manila, on the other hand, suffered their 19th loss in 21 games.

Mark Dyke scored 20 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead the Ilagan Isabela Cowboys to an 88-73 win over the Davao Occidental Tigers.

Donald Gumaru added 17 points and Agem Miranda and Allan Santos had 10 each. Arthur dela Cruz finished with a near triple double with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists.

Nemesis Dela Cruz scored a season-high 32 points while Renzel Casejeros added 18 as the Marikina Shoemasters overcame big games from Imus' Jhon Jerrick Caspe, Kint Ariar and Reggie Boy Basibas to score a 104-101 win in overtime.

Karl Penano hit a go-ahead layup with 1:16 left in overtime for Marikina as the Shoemasters recovered from a 36-point beat down against Quezon last week.

Caspe scored an MPBL season-best 46 points on 16-of-33 shooting from the field for Imus. Ariar had a triple double, 17 points 12 rebounds and 13 assists while Basibas finished with a 14-point, 17-rebound double-double.

Imus dropped to 6-8.

Jeramer Cabanag and Jeff Manday scored 11 points apiece to lead Caloocan Batang Kankaloo past Imus Braderhood in a low-scoring affair, 58-52. Jhon Jerrick Caspe scored 18 for Imus but no other teammate scored in double figures.

Dave Ildefonso scored a season-high 31 points, including 6 threes (13 attempts) to extend the Weavers' winning streak to 9 games. They are just half a game behind league-leading Nueva Ecija, who is still unbeaten in 11 games.

Parañaque, on the other, have lost their last 5 games.

 

Axel Iñigo hit 8 of his 12 three point attempts to lead the Mindoro Tamaraws past Manila Batang Quiapo 95-56. Iñigo finished with a total of 28 points and added 5 rebunds and 5 assists as the Tamaraws improved to 6-7.

Manila, who suffered their 11th straight defeat, was lead by 13 points from John  Ashley Faa.
