1Bataan Risers' Yves Sazon scores 24 points, leading 6 other Risers in double figures as 1Bataan handed Manila an embarrassing 144-82 defeat.

The Risers won its second straight game, solidifying its hold of a play-in spot. Manila, on the other hand, suffered its 5th straight setback and has lost 20 of its 22 games this season, the second worst mark in the league.

Upon review of the footage of the incident from last night's game (August 11) between the Mindoro Tamaraws and the GenSan Warriors, the MPBL has meted a lifetime ban on GenSan player Michole Sorela.

A ₱200,000 fine has also been slapped on Sorela for the punch that left Mindoro's Jonas Tibayan with a broken jaw and concussion.

"We condemn the incident and the MPBL won't tolerate such actions", said MPBL commissioner Kenneth duremdes in handing out stiff sanctions. "It compromises the player's safety and taint the league's image".

The Mindoro Tamaraws (13-10) scored a tight 76-72 win over the GenSan Warriors (13-9) to move just half a game behind them for sixth place in the South Division. The Top 6 at the end of the Regular Season automatically qualifies for a playoffs spot.

Bambam Gamalinda scored 21 points and hauled down 7 boards to pace the Tamaraws. Wendel Comboy (16 and 5) and Joseph Sedurifa (12 and 7) also had good games for the Tamaraws.

Kyle Dominic Tolentino had a double-double (21 points and 10 rebounds) to lead the Warriors.

Yves Sazon scored 14 points, leading 3 other Risers in double figures as 1Bataan registers a mild upset in beating Biñan Tatak Gel.

Hubert Cani finished with 13 points, John Lorenz Capulong 12 (plus 9 boards) and Mitchelle Maynes 11 for 1Bataan.

Kenny rocacurva finished with 16 points and 7 rebounds for Biñan.

The Risers improved its win-loss mark to 8-14 for a 1 and a half game lead for the last playin spot.

The MPBL has decided to postpone the games scheduled for today, July 21, 2025 at the Batangas City Coliseum due to the heavy rains affecting Batangas City and nearby areas.

The health and safety of the teams, working staff, and fans are of utmost importance to the league.

The new date of the postponed games will be announced in due course.

Eric Camson posted a 20-20 game as Rizal Xentro Mall Coolers slipped past 1Bataan Risers, 82-71.

Camson finished with 24 points and 23 rebounds for Rizal

Axel Iñigo hit 8 of his 12 three point attempts to lead the Mindoro Tamaraws past Manila Batang Quiapo 95-56. Iñigo finished with a total of 28 points and added 5 rebunds and 5 assists as the Tamaraws improved to 6-7.

Manila, who suffered their 11th straight defeat, was lead by 13 points from John  Ashley Faa.
