Dwight Ramos erupted for 10 of his 21 points in the 3rd quarter as the Philippines broke away from a close game and kept Iraq at bay the rest of the way to win 66-57.
It was the first win for the Philippines to advance to the next round, where they will face either Jordan or Saudi Arabia.
Iraq, who is now eliminated, was led by Ali Ismael with 13 points.

Australia used a strong start and kept the Philippines at bay the rest of the way, clinching a semifinals slot with a convincing 84-60 win.
Owen Foxwell scored 17 points, leading 4 other Aussies in double figures.
They will face the winner of the Iran - Chinese Taipei game.
Kevin Quiambao was the lone bright spot for the Philippines, finishing with 17 points, of 6 of 10 shooting from the field, including 5 three-pointers.

Justin Brownlee scored 29 points, including a 3-pointer with 3.4 seconds left in regulation that forced overtime, and added 4 rebounds and 5 assists as Philippines eliminated host Saudi Arabia, 95-88.
Ariel John Edu, who also had 12 rebounds, and Kevin Quiambao, who had 3 assists and 3 steals, both contributed 17 points for the Philippines, who will now face Asutralia in the Quarterfinals.
Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman had 33 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, while Mohammed Alsuwailem added 26 points and 14 rebounds to lead Saudi Arabia.

Jordan Ngatai scored 22 points and Taylor Britt added 19 with 8 assists as New Zealand helds off a gritty fight back from the Philippines to score a 94-86 win.
It was the 2nd straight win for New Zealand, tying Chinese Taipei on top of Group D. The Philippines meanwhile, dropped to 0-2 and will need to beat Iraq in their final Preliminary Round game to avoid elimination.
Justin Brownlee led the Philippines with 37 points, hitting 7 three-pointers. Dwight Ramos added 19.

Lin Ting-chien scored 22 points, Mohammad Gadiaga 13 and Adam Tsang Hinton 11 as Chinese Taipei led from start to finish in an 87-60 win over Iraq.
The win moves Chinese Taipei to 2-0, while Iraq dropped to 0-2.

Chinese Taipei outscored the Philippines 27-16 in the first quarter and them off the rest of way to score a big 95-87 win.
Chen Ying-chun was hot all game, finishing with 34 oints and 10-of-17 shooting from the field, including 6-of-8 from three. Brandon Gilbeck added 16 points and Lin Ting-chien and Robert Tsang Hinton 14 apiece for Chinese Taipei.
Justin Brownlee, who fouled out in the middle of the 4th quarter, led the Philippines with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Kevin Quiambao added 17, and Dwight Ramos and Scottie Thompson 16 each in the losing cause.

New Zealand outscored Iraq 37-17 in the 4th quarter to pull away from a close game as New Zealand opened their FIBA Asia Cup campaign with a 100-78 win over Iraq.
Taylor Britt had 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to lead New Zealand. Mojave Jackson King (18 points), Tohi Smith-Milner (13) and Carlin Davison (12) all scored in double figures for the Tall Blacks.
Diar Ahmed Abdul Allah Abdul Allah led Iraq with 19 points.
